‘Narratives Of The Place’: Champions Who Charted Sharjah’s Epic Journey Of Growth In ‘50’ Picture Mosaic
Mosaic, shaped in the number ‘50’, is composed of pictures of individuals who witnessed Sharjah’s cultural renaissance
‘Narratives of the Place’ (Sard Al Makan), an immersive and experiential theatrical show, which narrates the extraordinary journey and accomplishments of Sharjah over the past 50 years, emphasises to the audience the enduring belief of His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Muhammad Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah, that people are the cornerstone of progress and development of the emirate.
The show unveils a fabulous picture mosaic in the shape of the number ‘50’ and features the photographs of thousands of people who have been a witness to or a partner in the renaissance of the emirate over the last five decades. The mosaic also includes images of those who participated in the social media campaign launched by the Sharjah Government Media Bureau (SGMB) to collect and document memories of all citizens and residents in Sharjah, or those from around the world.
The captivating scene reinforces that the emirate’s story is authored by its citizens, residents and visitors and that their experiences, successes and love for the emirate have nurtured and fuelled the extraordinary cultural achievements over the past 50 years.
The photos will be curated and published in a book that will be launched at the upcoming edition of the Sharjah International Book Fair (SIBF) and will document the biography and journey of the emirate as well as its people, architecture, achievements, and the experience of those who have lived in it.
